Bill O’Brien says Deshaun Watson feeling better than he did a week ago

As frequently as Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson ended up on the ground or hit Sunday against the Buffalo Bills, he didn’t absorb the kind of violent impacts he did a week ago against the Dallas Cowboys.

The Dallas game left Watson with a bruised chest that included his ribs, sternum and lung.

Watson was sacked seven times and hit a dozen times overall Sunday.

“I think he’s doing better than he was at this point last week,” Texans coach Bill O’Brien said.

Watson has been sacked 24 times through six games and hit 66 times. He’s on pace to be sacked 64 times and hit 176 times.

“He’s a tough as they come,” O’Brien said.

Watson completed 15 of 27 passes for 177 yards and one touchdown, but was intercepted twice and fumbled three times, losing one.

“There are times when the ball needs to come out a little faster,” O’Brien said.
